Cartoons
A Cartoon is a single short video made from a story you write or paste. It keeps your plot, your characters and your ending. Unlike a Series, it’s made once and isn’t part of any Series.
Every Cartoon is about 60 seconds long and vertical, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Length and format can’t be changed.
You need an active BigMotion plan to make Cartoons.
Make a Cartoon
Open Cartoons in the sidebar (or go to app.bigmotion.ai/cartoons), then press Create your first cartoon or New cartoon. There are 8 steps. Press Continue to move on and Back to return.
1. Your story
Write or paste your story: anything from a few sentences to a whole tale, 50 to 5,000 characters. You can also add a title, up to 100 characters.
BigMotion adapts the text for video, so the wording will change, but the story stays yours. Press Test My Story to see a sample script first. The language of your story sets the language of the voice.
2. Your character (optional)
Upload a photo or drawing of your hero (PNG or JPG). BigMotion describes it, and you can edit that description. You can also skip the upload and just write a description.
3. Visual style
Pick the look of the whole Cartoon.
4. Voice
Pick a narrator. Each voice has a preview button.
5. Background music (optional)
Pick a track. To have no music, tap the selected track again.
6. Captions
Pick an on-screen caption style, or None.
7. Automatic Publishing (optional)
Turn on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube to post the Cartoon as soon as it’s ready. Only accounts already connected on the Account page can be turned on; the others show “After setup”. See Auto-posting.
8. Animation
Choose how much of the Cartoon moves, then press Generate cartoon:
- Animate the opening scene: only the first scene moves. Faster, fewer Sparks. A good start, because it brings the hook to life.
- Animate every scene: every scene becomes a moving clip with ambient sound. The richest result; takes longer and costs the most. Needs a higher Sparks pack.
- No animation: a slideshow with overlay effects and smooth transitions. Costs no Sparks.
Each option shows its price and your Sparks balance. The price is fixed per Cartoon for the option you choose; story length and style don’t change it. Sparks are set aside when generation starts and taken only if the Cartoon is made. See Animation.
After you press Generate cartoon
- The Cartoon’s page opens. The video takes a few minutes. There’s no email or alert when it’s done, so check back.
- On the Cartoons page each card shows Generating, Ready or Failed, and updates on its own.
When it’s Ready you can:
- Download it.
- Edit it like a Series video: regenerate scene pictures in Images Editor, change captions in Captions, then re-render. See Your videos.
- Schedule it to post on your connected accounts.
If it Failed, press Re-render Video to try again. If generation fails, your Sparks return to your balance.
Cartoons can’t be deleted.
Let an AI assistant do it
With a connected AI assistant you can paste your story and say “make this into a cartoon”. It picks a style, voice and animation, tells you the Sparks cost, and starts it. To use your own character image, upload it in the app. See Connect an AI assistant.
