Auto-posting to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram
BigMotion can post your videos to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels for you. Setting it up takes two steps: connect your accounts once, then choose where each Series posts.
Step 1: Connect your accounts
Connecting means signing in to the platform yourself, so it’s done only in the BigMotion app. An AI assistant can’t do it for you, but it can send you the link.
- Open Account (app.bigmotion.ai/account).
- Find Your social media accounts.
- Press Add TikTok account, Add YouTube account or Add Instagram account.
- Sign in to the platform and allow access. You come back to the Account page when it’s done.
Good to know:
- You need an active BigMotion plan to connect accounts.
- You can connect one account per platform. To switch, remove the current one with the trash icon (there’s no confirmation) and add the new one. The Calendar tab of a Series mentions connecting multiple accounts, but only one per platform is kept.
- If a connection stops working, it disappears from the Account page. Press Add … account again to reconnect.
- The same buttons appear on a Series’ Calendar tab, under Connected Accounts.
Step 2: Choose where each Series posts
- When creating a Series: the Automatic Publishing step lists TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Turn on the ones you want. Platforms you haven’t connected show “After setup” and can’t be turned on yet.
- Later: open the Series, press Settings, stay on the General tab and use Where to publish?. Changes apply to videos posted after you save.
Cartoons have the same Automatic Publishing step. A Cartoon is posted once, as soon as it’s ready.
Privacy and platform settings
In the Series Settings, under Where to publish?:
YouTube
- Public (the default), Unlisted or Private.
TikTok
- Who can view these videos (required): Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me. Only the options your TikTok account allows are shown.
- Allow users to: Comment, Duet, Stitch. All off by default.
- Disclose video content: turn this on if the video promotes a brand, product or service. “Your brand” is labelled “Promotional content”; “Branded content” is labelled “Paid partnership”. Branded content can’t be private.
- TikTok may limit video length or the number of daily posts for your account; the app shows TikTok’s reason.
- A video can take a few minutes to show up on your TikTok profile.
- No extra settings. Videos are posted as Reels with your Instagram account’s defaults.
What gets posted and when
- Each post uses the video’s AI-written caption.
- A Series’ monthly videos are spread evenly across the calendar month, at 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 or 21:00 UTC. The Series Calendar tab shows the upcoming times in your local time.
- Each video starts generating about a day before its planned time. YouTube and TikTok can publish it as soon as it’s ready, so it may appear there up to a day before the time shown.
- The first video of a new Series is made and posted right away.
- You can’t choose your own posting times for a Series.
Check the results
Platform icons on each video card show what happened:
- Published: every selected platform got the video.
- Error: a platform rejected it. Point at the icon to see why, for example “Your TikTok connection expired. Reconnect the account.”
Failed posts aren’t retried automatically. Reconnect the account if asked, so the next videos go through, and Download the failed video to post it yourself. More fixes are in Troubleshooting.
Post a single video
- Open the video and press Schedule.
- Pick your connected accounts, a caption, the date and time, and the platform settings.
- Press Schedule.
On YouTube and TikTok a scheduled post can currently go out earlier than the date and time you picked.
